Now I have not been ignoring my exercise, but it certainly has been more difficult with the weather. I am very fortunate to live in Boulder, where often the winter months are 50-60 degrees.
This week has been lovely.
However last week was minus 20 and snowing. I just cant find the motivation to get out there when it is so cold.
Second issue: Wind.
On my last post I wrote briefly how windy it was... here is one walk on my way home:
Yup! Thats me
Some people pay to have a nice windblown look like this.
Anyway this is worse than the snow and cold. When dressed appropriately cold isnt too bad. Plus you're running, so hopefully you'll warm up :)
SO I havent been running as much. I am playing ultimate though... so thats at least something.
I also want to start doing some core exercises. A few days ago I had a sad reflection. I'm unhappy with my body image. Its a hard thing to think about, and I know Im not fat or overweight... Im just not happy with myself. Im going to do something about it....
Im hoping that by putting it in writing I will hold myself accountable. I have tried to get some girlfriends to work at it with me, but I think Im going to have to do this alone for the time being. BUT I CAN DO IT! I know I can.
There is so much media out there of this perfect image of a woman, gaps and all that bull... For me, sometimes I want to be like those women
-the definition, or at least what it seems like most men's definition of beautiful is
Then the other part of me wants to say F you to all that media and what people think beauty is.
I feel that I am healthy, I eat good (granted I really do enjoy a big burrito) ;) I exercise
ANYWAY Im going to start some changes. I look at W and his crossfit accomplishments, its amazing. I want to make those kinds of changes.
I think most of it for me, at this moment, is I want to be STRONG.
I think Im going to be going to Mexico in april/may time frame. My goal is by then I want to see some changes. :)
This blog, and if anyone is reading it will hold me accountable.
Plus getting stronger will help me with my running, if I am going to beat my old marathon time, I need to do more than I did last time.
I have been biking too, I have noticed my quads are getting stronger... yay!
That'll also help with my frisbee game.
Anyway
Here are some things that are helping me stay motivated.
TheBERRY -a blog site... i love them (and their counterpart TheCHIVE)
The hyperlink is to berry's daily motivation albums they have.
Recipes, workouts, tips, stories... all there to help!
Here are some images:
