Sleeve Full of Snot.

Things I was reminded of on my runs this week:
plan a route: when you just run, it feels like you have been gone forever and many miles, and then when you check your milage it's the most disappointing thing! Ugh. So plan a route with the milage you want, then you know when you turn around/finish how far you have gone.
blow your snot/spit with the wind dont worry, I did, but it flew past me so quick I thought thank goodness I spit in that direction, it would have hit me right in the face if I had spin in the other direction. So just a reminder.
hills make me bored and slow and they make me want to stop running. I know they are good, but if they make me a lazy runner I would rather only do them when I have to. too bad I live in boulder and not flat country...
take it easy I am easing into new running shoes. minimalists (or almost there).
they are Newton Gravity (<-link). These shoes completely change my running style. Definitely for the better. But I need to take it slow at first.

Which isnt really a problem since I haven't run in a while.
side note: I love the way they make me run. I am looking forward to longer distances that will be injury free!

dress for the weather as it is, AND as it might be It was a beautiful 60 plus degrees on Wednesday (we here in Boulder like to call it JUN-uary) but I took my run around 330. When I was done around 430 the sun was behind the mountains, the wind had picked up and I was freezing! I was thinking while I was running whether it is better to be hot or cold when running. I think cold (IF you have resources to change, which this week I didnt) My joints (knees and hips) we sore because I was so cold. no good. Although this summer when I was on a run with TNT training, it was blisteringly hot and it was awful... so neither is good. RULE: dress appropriately. and carry layers.

Im sure I learned more... but thats all I can think of. Any way my long run, dont know how far cause my phone was dumb, only happened because I was let out of work early. So I said Im going to take advantage of this beautiful sunlight and go run! I did. it was nice

here are some pictures from it. click to enlarge and flip through. all taken with my phone.

Ran it for my boss who let me leave early. She said SHELBI GO ENJOY THE SUN FOR ME. I did

Sunset

As for the title: I was cold. my nose was running. and well it had to go somewhere. So my sleeve was quite full of snot.
